Automotive electronics pressure sensor dispensing: UV-curing structural adhesive case study

Background

An equipment integrator / manufacturer in Automotive electronics needed to dispensing on a pressure sensor using UV-curing structural adhesive.

Process challenge

High fluid viscosity and resistance causing pneumatic extrusion to lose speed.

Solution

We recommended Pneumatic Valve + Glue Supply System, with replacing time-pressure control with a positive-displacement screw valve to meter by volume.

Result

  • Volume repeatability improved from ±5% to within ±2%.
  • Shot volume 0.1 mL with deviation within ±3%.
  • Cycle time 0.6 s per dot with no stringing or dripping during continuous running.

Project facts

  • Industry: Automotive electronics
  • Workpiece: pressure sensor
  • Fluid: UV-curing structural adhesive
  • Process: dispensing
  • Recommended lines: Pneumatic Valve, Glue Supply System
