Optoelectronics and display LED module dispensing: UV-curing structural adhesive case study

Background

An equipment integrator / manufacturer in Optoelectronics and display needed to dispensing on a LED module using UV-curing structural adhesive.

Process challenge

High fluid viscosity and resistance causing pneumatic extrusion to lose speed.

Solution

We recommended Dispensing Valve + Glue Distributing Machine, with using a servo dispensing module with a programmable speed profile to hold a constant extrusion rate.

Result

  • Volume repeatability improved from ±5% to within ±2%.
  • Shot volume 1.5 mL with deviation within ±2%.
  • Cycle time 0.8 s per dot with no stringing or dripping during continuous running.
